Just Gold
Pride in Business is funded and published by Just Gold through its impact program. The Aurum Foundation will contribute research review and intersectional analysis. This page sets out who Just Gold is, how the work is funded and how the review arrangement works.
Just Gold funds and publishes it
Just Gold is Australia’s first certified social enterprise management consultancy and creative agency. We are Autistic and LGBTIQA+ owned and led, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and work nationally with government, peak bodies and major organisations across strategy, communications, disability inclusion, social procurement and creative production.
Pride in Business is part of Just Gold’s impact program. Just Gold funds and publishes the work. There are no subscriptions to purchase and no paid placements. Organisations cannot buy favourable coverage, inclusion in the research or the removal of a finding. Just Gold remains accountable for what it publishes.
The impact program
Just Gold has been a certified social enterprise with Social Traders since 2019, and 50 per cent of its enterprise surplus goes back into public impact initiatives. Every engagement creates paid work for skilled professionals who are routinely shut out of traditional industries, including LGBTIQA+ and disabled people.

The impact program backs the Aurum Foundation, Autistic Pride Day and pro bono work for organisations doing good. Pride in Business is the program’s LGBTIQA+ economic research publication. It does not currently earn revenue, and its research, articles and explainers are free to read.
The Aurum Foundation
The Aurum Foundation is a registered charity, separate from Just Gold. It supports equity work that commercial models do not fund, investing in long term equity and systems change across gender, disability, neurodivergence, culture, sexuality and youth. It is registered with the ACNC and funded through partnerships. Visit aurum.org.au.
What Aurum will do on this project
Once the research begins, the Aurum Foundation will contribute research review and intersectional analysis. Its role is to examine the research design and interpretation, including how experiences may differ across cultural background, disability, gender, age and location.
Each research publication will identify the review undertaken and who was responsible for it. The review credit will appear only on work that has completed that review.
How the two organisations relate
Just Gold and the Aurum Foundation share a founder, who leads Just Gold as CEO and chairs the Foundation. This is a related party review arrangement, not independent peer review, and we do not describe it as independent.
A reviewer can question the method or interpretation; a commercial relationship cannot purchase a change to the findings.
Conflicts of interest
Just Gold works with government, business and community organisations, including organisations discussed by this publication. Relevant current or recent relationships are disclosed alongside the work concerned, as are material relationships involving an author or reviewer.
Participation in research creates no obligation to purchase services from Just Gold. Findings and coverage are not negotiated as part of a commercial engagement. Read our editorial and research principles.
The LGBTIQA+ Advisory Board
We have just opened expressions of interest for the Just Gold LGBTIQA+ Advisory Board. Once appointed, it will co design The State of LGBTIQA+ Business in Australia. The board is advisory only: members are not directors and do not make decisions for the company. Read the position description.
